On Oct. 18, Robin Roberts from “Good
Morning America” sang a duet of “Today Is Your Day” with Shania Twain. Roberts
was in Las Vegas to interview Twain for the upcoming ABC CMA TV special “In the
Spotlight with Robin Roberts.” On Oct. 21, Robin talked about her experience on
“GMA.” It was surreal,” she told viewers on Monday morning. “It was great. She
is special,” the “GMA" host added.
Roberts explained that when Twain asked her to join her, she thought others would be on stage as well. “She just pulled me up on stage,” Roberts stated. The two sang “Today Is Your Day,” Shania’s first song after her divorce to her husband of 18 years.
After their duet, Shania Twain posted on Twitter, “Invited @RobinRoberts on stage. She’s such a remarkable example of courage and determination! I had the best time with you.” Robin also tweeted a message that read, “Big check on the bucket list…getting on stage and performing in Las Vegas.” She later posted, “Something I’ll remember for the rest of my life.”
In addition to hosting “GMA,” Robin Roberts also hosts “In the Spotlight” every year to promote the CMA Awards.
