"American Idol"'s long and winding road to Hollywood included a bumpy ride through Chicago. Make that a very bumpy ride.

The Windy City - the third stop for the season 9 auditions - generated only a weak breeze of talent. A whopping 12,000 contestants, the biggest batch of all the audition venues this season, tried out in Chicago. But only 13 people emerged with golden tickets to the competitive Hollywood rounds.

Last night's show on FOX was a revolving door of rejected singers (if you can call them that), screechers and attention-seekers. Some, like a woman who called herself "the crazy accordion lady," were outright silly and didn't even deserve a chuckle. Others, like bubbly Ohio waitress and Broadway wannabe Amy Lang, were entertaining and will likely end up on a YouTube highlight reel.

Lang, who claims she had "inappropriate dreams" about host Ryan Seacrest, flaunted her two biggest assets and had the judges roaring with laughter. Guest judge Shania Twain aptly described Lang's routine as "boob boxing."

The superstar country singer also drew laughs, and gasps, later on when she seemed to be infatuated with an Asian college student named John Park. The 20-year-old dazzled all of the judges with his refreshingly good voice, but Twain seemed fixated on his looks.

"You have a beautiful bottom end," she told the stunned contestant. "You have a nice tone down there."

Twain also complimented his "nice lips" before finally remembering this reality show is not a model search but a singing competition. "Anyway, I think you have a nice voice." (WATCH VIDEO)
